Behavior Management Classroom (BMC)

The Behavior Management Classroom (BMC) Program of the Edgewood Independent School District has as its primary focus the worth and dignity of each individual child. The purpose of the program is for a child who is having behavioral challenges to establish relationships in society and to become a contributing member of society. The persons involved with the development of that child must provide realistic opportunities and experiences to model for and foster mainstream attitudes and skills for the student. The BMC program is recognized for its ability to enable learners with special behavioral and emotional needs to become independent and effective students and citizens. The BMC program provides education for students with behavioral challenges in the least restrictive environment (LRE). This BMC program embraces the Edgewood Independent School District's belief that every child has the ability to learn and receive a world class education.
